Teen Camp

The YMCA in Norman is offering a summer camp for middle school students called, Teen Camp. Teen Camp is a way for teenagers to make lifelong friends. Teens will get the opportunity to visit educational places such at the State Capitol, museums, and other local monuments. They will also go on field trips to the zoo, local parks, and swimming facilities. Teen Camp gives middle school students the chance to do fitness classes and participate in their favorite sports; this camp is a great way to stay in shape while having fun at the same time. Each day campers will need to bring a lunch, a water bottle, a swimsuit, and a towel. Campers have the choice of participating in outdoor activities so sunscreen will also be needed. Teen Camp runs from June 1, 2010 through August 13, 2010. Parents have the option of signing their teen up for as many weeks of camp as they would like. If you are a YMCA member, camp will cost $125 per week. If you are a non-member then the camp will cost $150 per week. The camp week runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 am until 6:00 pm. Through Teen Camp, participants will discover abilities they did not know they had; they will be allowed to explore opportunities and skills they can use in the future especially with regards to sports. The YMCA's Teen Camp explores different fields so that your teen can decide if they would like to further pursue these activities throughout the rest of their lives. Your teen could be the next pro-athlete, artist, or veterinarian. Alyson, a YMCA member, said "I always loved going to camps like these. They gave me a chance to escape the house and do something fun. I will absolutely allow my children to attend Teen Camp."
